Express your individual style at The Little Chapel

Aside from the all important "I Do's", styling your ceremony and reception space is a one of the best ways to express yourselves as a couple on your big day.

Over the course of the 2019/2020 wedding season we have been amazed by the variety of styles of floral arrangements and decorations which have been used and how much they can change and personalise the spaces available at The Little Chapel.  We have had some very talented and creative couples indeed.

When choosing the type of styling or floral arrangements to use, it is important to consider where most of the action will take place throughout the day, where you would like to have pictures taken and what the space could actually benefit from.  Here are our top suggestions for perfecting the styling options here at The Little Chapel.

Flower Walls

Flower walls have been around for a few years now, but their popularity is still strong.  They look amazing in a variety of locations throughout your wedding day.  Use one behind the altar during the ceremony, and then it can be moved into your reception location, perhaps behind the head table or as a photo backdrop for guests.

The flower wall below from Twiggy Blooms turned what was an ordinary gateway, into something spectacular and a wonderful additional location for pictures to be taken.

Aisle Decorations

How do you envision your entrance into the chapel?  Whether you love the simplicity of the dark timber as it is, or love the idea of an abundance of flameless candles and romantic flowers hung from the pews.  Your choice here can really make a strong statement for your guests, and for you as you enter the chapel and make the big walk down the aisle.  Nothing creates a romantic atmosphere quite like the glow of candlelight and lots of it! Line the  aisle with long rows of pillar candles in vases or clusters to light the way.

Flameless candles and floral arrangements can be removed from the Chapel after your ceremony and used in your reception space.  Re-purposing your ceremony decorations in your reception is also a major money and stress saver.

Floral Statement Pieces

The use of floral statement pieces have proven to be an incredibly popular choice during weddings this season.  These simple, striking pieces don't need to be overthought.  The pictures below speak for themselves.  Pick bold colours, or statement flowers such as peonies or proteas.  Working with a budget? Fill out your statement piece with beautiful foliage and striking hydrangeas.

Decorated Archways

Fresh or faux flowers can really add the wow factor to the arbors in our entrance walkway.  We have the arbor frames ready for you to style, just add the draping and your flower arrangements.  Pre-made arbor arrangements can be hired from The Little Hire Company or have them custom design you something with fresh flowers.  There are also options to decorate the timber archway inside the chapel with flowers, additional fairy lights, or both!

When it comes to styling, the options really are endless and it is easy to get carried away with all of the inspiring ideas that can be found on Pinterest and Instagram.  It isn't always best to try and recreate everything that you have pinned.  Simplicity can be the key, and it is often better to choose a few key elements and execute them well.

If it is all just too much, you can always bring in the experts and hire a company who can take care of it all for you and provide you with great advice.
